“We’ve been paying attention to the demographic data, so we knew that it was heading in this direction … the surprise was in how rapidly it happened.” –Mark Manuel, Bellevue City Diversity Outreach and Engagement Program Administrator.
An exponential increase in the Bellevue’s diversity, the percentage of caucasians was 59% just 5 years ago and is now shy of 50% of Bellevue’s population making Bellevue the largest majority-minority city in Washington State. Among the cities that have become more racially diverse, Bellevue stands out for being among the most affluent. Last year the median household income in Bellevue was $99,000, significantly higher than even that of Seattle at $80,000. With two offices located in Bellevue, one in the downtown corridor and the other in East Bellevue, paired with agents who speak over 10 different languages from Romanian, Mandarin, German, and French, our team at Brazen Sotheby’s International Realty is able to serve this increasingly diverse population and welcome foreign buyers who are moving into Bellevue and making this city their home!
While in recent years the fastest growing population in Bellevue has been Chinese, the Indian community has been seeing rapid growth too. Recognizing this growing population, our Brazen Sotheby’s International Realty office opened the first Indian Desk in Washington State at our Eastside location to better serve the Indian community with their real estate needs both locally and abroad.
Leading the way, Brazen Sotheby’s International Realty joins Gulf Sotheby’s Int’l Realty and United Kingdom Sotheby’s Int’l Realty as first globally to partner with North India Sotheby’s International Realty and assist the roughly 55,000 Asian Indians living in King County. With leadership from Joseph Brazen and brokers Ambili Sukesan and Sri Talluri, both originally from India and moving to the United States over 20+ years ago, our team at Brazen Sotheby’s International Realty welcomes this growing population into our community and is committed to helping Bellevue become the place they call home.
Earlier this year, Brazen Sotheby’s International Realty headlined as a primary sponsor of the Indian Association of Western Washington annual dinner & auction at Microsoft. IAWW serves the Greater Seattle area and provides a common identity to the Indian Community and opportunities for cultural integration through social, educational and cultural activities. Teaming up with their association, our team is working to help them with their mission to improve mutual understanding and appreciation between the Indo-American community and mainstream American community. While a city’s growing diversity can often bring challenges such as cultural differences and language barriers, the city of Bellevue has turned its growing diversity into an opportunity to become a melting pot of different regions, cultures, and people from around the world.
